The external inspection of the boiler is generally carried out once a year, the internal inspection is generally carried out once every two years, and the hydraulic test is generally carried out once every six years. For boilers that cannot be inspected internally, a hydraulic test shall be carried out every three years. The internal inspection and hydraulic test cycle of power plant boilers can be adjusted appropriately according to the power plant overhaul cycle. The boiler can be put into operation only when the internal inspection, external inspection and hydraulic test are all within the valid period.
In addition to regular periodic inspections, the following inspections should be carried out when the boiler has one of the following conditions.
External inspection:
1. When the moved boiler is put into operation;
2. When the boiler stops operating for more than one year and resumes operation;
3. After the boiler's combustion method and safety automatic control system have been modified.
Internal inspection:
1. The newly installed boiler has been in operation for one year;
2. Before moving the boiler into operation;
3. Before the boiler stops operating for more than one year and resumes its operation;
4. After major repair or transformation of pressure components and one year after re-operation;
5. When there are doubts about the safety and reliability of the equipment based on the results of the last internal inspection and the operation of the boiler;
6. When there are doubts about the safety and reliability of the equipment based on the results of external inspections and the operating conditions of the boiler.
